Additional information

The Pre-Assessment Clinic is run by a senior nurse, who performs a series of tests and scans for patients who have been diagnosed with cataract. Nurses triage the patients into a clinic to see a surgeon, who may book cataract surgery. Patients are given an appointment in this clinic when they are referred for cataract. All patients requiring surgery must have an appointment in this clinic as tests and scans performed during this appointment are used by the surgeon during the operation.
