HACC (Home & Community Care) is a government funded program designed to give families/carers a time limited break away from the usual responsibilities of caring for someone aged 0-25 years with disabilities and/or ongoing medical conditions with moderate to high support needs. Respite care provides in-house or out of home respite, personal care, assistance with transport, assistance with housework, as well as information and access to other programs.
The Specific Home Care Program provides skilled workers employed with Hobsons Bay City Council who are police checked, trained and experienced in working with children and young people (0 to 25 years) with disabilities and/or ongoing medical conditions.
This service is available seven days a week during daytime, evenings or weekends . Bookings are necessary and can be made on a regular and/or occasional basis.
