Immunisation is a simple, effective way of protecting your child against dangerous infectious diseases. Council offers a comprehensive free immunisation service for infants and school children including maintenance of records.
There are fourteen diseases for which it is recommended that all children (with very few exceptions) be immunised: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Poliomyelitis, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Haemophilus Influenzae B, Meningococcal Serogroup C, Pneumococcal (Prevenar), Hepatitis B, Chickenpox, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Rotavirus. Babies are given their first dose of Hepatitis B at birth.

School programs are also provided for Year 7 (Gardasil & Chickenpox), Year 9 Boys catch up 2014 (Gardasil) and Year 10 (Boostrix).
