There is no single department of psychology within Bendigo Health.
Clinical Psychologists are specialists in the integrated assessment, diagnosis and treatment of major mental illnesses and common psychological problems. Clinical psychologists are trained in a range of therapies with demonstrated effectiveness in treating mental health disorders. They are specialists in applying psychological theory to solve complex clinical problems.
Clinical Neuropsychologists specialise in the relationship between brain function and behaviour. Clinical Neuropsychologists assess the changes in cognition (i.e. memory, language, intellect, etc.) and behaviour, which may arise from brain dysfunction, such as head injury, epilepsy, brain infection, stroke, drug and alcohol disorders, schizophrenia and developmental disorders.
Clinical Health Psychologists Clinical Health Psychologists specialise in psychological assessment and diagnosis relevant to physical illness; psychological and behavioural management and treatment of illness; treatment of health risk behaviours, and encouragement of illness adaptation.
Provisional Psychologists are in the process of completing either a Masters or Doctoral degree in Psychology and are on placement within BHCG under the close supervision of fully registered clinical psychologists or clinical neuropsychologists.
Post Graduate Student Placements are offered to provisional psychologists training in Clinical, Clinical Health, and Clinical Neuropsychology.
Please note: we are unable to accept students studying outside Australia or undergraduate students for placement or work experience.
