Mildura Private Hospital offers a service for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment carried out in a dedicated lounge area, that offers a quiet modern environment for treatment under the direction of your doctor, specialist, and dedicated nursing staff.
Medical day stay patients, eg. Some blood product transfusions, are also catered for in this private lounge area.
CHEMOTHERAPY PATIENT INFORMATION
-- On arrival our receptionist will greet you and finalise admission procedures and direct you to the Chemotherapy Unit where you will be made comfortable in one of our reclining chairs.
-- An admission procedure will be completed by our Chemotherapy Nurse. Your Doctor will visit you prior to your treatment, and any questions you and your family may have can be discussed.
-- We suggest that you wear comfortable clothing that enables easy access to your arms. You may like to bring your choice of reading material. We will provide magazines and newspapers.
-- During your stay you will be offered refreshments. Please tell us if you have any special requests/needs.
-- All injectable drugs are supplied by Mildura Private Hospital.
-- Discharge drugs will need to be obtained from your local pharmacy with scripts provided by your doctor. Please let us know if your require scripts for continuing medication.
-- At Mildura Private Hospital it is of great importance to us that your comfort and privacy is maintained at all times. If at any stage we are not achieving this, please let us know.
-- If you have a favourite CD or tape you would like to listen to, please bring that with you.<
