Client Care Volunteer Support: Peninsula Hospice Service Client Care Volunteers provide a range of services to clients and their carers and families. Volunteers offer support via activities such as spending time with clients enabling carers to rest or go out, transporting clients or carers to appointments or shopping, or simply providing company and conversation.
Client Care Volunteers are men and women of all ages and backgrounds who have great respect for people and their individual needs. Following an initial interview and assessment, volunteers undertake a 10-week training program prior to being placed with a client. Ongoing professional development of the volunteers is a large component of their time commitment, ensuring volunteers are well equipped to support a variety of issues that are faced by clients, carers and families. The PHS volunteer training program has been accredited by the National Association for Loss and Grief (NALAG).
