The Goulburn Valley Alcohol and Drug Service (GVADS) offers alcohol and drug treatment for adults (16+ years) in the Goulburn
Valley region. The three treatment streams available are:
Counselling: Incorporates face to face and telephone counselling for individuals. Professional assistance and guidance in
resolving problems surrounding substance abuse and short and long term goal setting.
Care and Recovery Coordination: Focuses on recovery from problematic substance abuse and assistance for clients to develop
long term recovery plans, promoting health, wellbeing and social connectedness.
Non-residential Withdrawal: This service offers clients home based and hospital based withdrawal programs or referral to
residential withdrawal facilities. The aim of the service is to provide appropriate and tailored needs for withdrawal treatment
ensuring a safe and comfortable completion.
GV Health, Odyssey House Victoria, The Salvation Army and GV Medicare Local have come together to form GVADS and
provides extensive experience in the alcohol and drug treatment service sector. GVADS has extensive linkages and
partnerships with other regional services and will facilitate referrals to these services as necessary.
