MRI scans are used to investigate or diagnose conditions such as disease or injury to the heart, brain, digestive organs, tumours anywhere in the body and spinal and joint injury or disease. The MRI machine uses a magnetic field and radio waves to take pictures of the body's interior. MRI scans are safe and available for neonates to adults.
