Nuclear Medicine is a specialised form of medical imaging which uses very small amounts of radioactive materials (radiopharmaceuticals) to assist in either the diagnosis of disease and injuries or to treat specific forms of cancer. Once introduced into the body, these radiopharmaceuticals then travel to specific areas or organs within the body allowing us to either image these areas or to begin treatment.
