Lullababy SOS

The Possums Clinic operates out of the Possums Education and Research Centre, and offers specialised, evidence-based care for parents whose babies have breastfeeding, sleep, or cry-fuss problems.

The Possums Clinic

There are a number of national and local telephone services that can provide advice, support and information about breastfeeding.

These include:

–	Australian Breastfeeding Association's Mum to Mum 24 hour telephone line - 1800 mum 2 mum or 1800 686 2 686 - provides a 24 hour breastfeeding helpline, where parents can talk to a trained ABA counsellor.

–	Pregnancy, Birth and Baby Helpline - 1800 882 436 - provides a 24 hour helpline and is a free call. 

–	healthdirect Australia – 1800 022 222 - provides a 24 hour helpline and is a free call.

–	Karitane - 1300 227 464 - Child and Family Health Nurses are available to speak on a range of issues regarding infants and children from 0-5 years of age.  

–	Tresillian Family Care Centres - 1800 637 357 - Child and Family Health Nurses are available to speak on a range of issues regarding infants and children from 0-5 years of age.

Breastfeeding Advice and Support

1300 NEW BUB will provide evidence based, practical advice to parents with NEW BUBS under one in the comfort of their own home. 1300 NEW BUB uses an approved health video conference platform ensuring client privacy.

Statewide service. Phone 132 229. The Maternal and Child Health Line provides 24 hour telephone advice and support to families with children birth to school age. Interpreters are available. The service is also available to deaf callers who have access to a telephone typewriter (TTY). The service is staffed by qualified amternal and child health nurses who provide callers with information, support and advice regarding child health, maternal and family health and parenting issues.

Online site. No fee. Raising Children Network is the complete parenting resource for all stages from pregnancy to newborns to teens. We offer research-based content on hundreds of topics for children and grown-ups.

Online maternal child and family health serivce offering continuity of care, growth and development checks, parental education, health promotion, sleep & settling support, nutrition support including breastfeeding/formula/solids/fussy eaters, emotional & social wellbeing for parents and children, including perinatal mental heath support.

Public holiday hours vary, call service to confirm availability.
