INDICATIONS AS AT 01 JANUARY 1991 : Treatment of severe hypophosphataemia (serum levels <0.3mmol/l) and other degrees of hypophosphataemia when oral therapy is not possible. Lowering the pH of urine. The treatment of potassium depletion in patients with hypokalemia. IV administration is indicated when the patient is unable to take potassium orally or if hypokalemia is severe.
