What this medicine is used for
(ARTG)
JARDIAMET is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults and children aged 10 years and above with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both empagliflozin and metformin is appropriate (see Sections 4.2 Dose and method of administration and 5.1 Pharmacodynamic properties - Clinical trials).,Empagliflozin is indicated in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death (see Section 5.1 Pharmacodynamic properties - Clinical trials).,To prevent cardiovascular deaths, empagliflozin should be used in conjunction with other measures to reduce cardiovascular risk in line with the current standard of care.
How to use this medicine

This medicine contains one component only.
Component :
- Tablet, film coated
- Oral
- Pale brownish purple, oval, biconvex film-coated tablets. One side is debossed with BI company symbol and "S12", the other side is debossed with "500".

- Shelf lifetime is 3 Years.
