Wounds Australia

Wounds Australia is Australia’s peak body for chronic wound advocacy, education and awareness-raising.

Vision and mission

Wounds Australia strives to ensure the more than 450,000 Australians yearly suffering wounds receive the best possible care. More than this, we aim to prevent chronic wounds, reduce harm, share knowledge, educate and raise awareness. Our work is undertaken in collaboration with patients, carers, families, health professionals, government and industry. We acknowledge the social determinants of health and our actions are informed by evidence and research.

How Wounds Australia can help

Wounds Australia provides information about wounds, including:

  • when to be concerned about a wound
  • what conditions can make wound care more complicated
  • the self-care steps you can take for your wound
  • where you can go for professional wound advice
  • information specific to ongoing conditions, such as diabetes and lymphoedema.
