Every year, more Australians are being diagnosed with a chronic physical health condition. If you are living with one of these conditions, we know that the challenges you face can go beyond the physical symptoms, and this takes a toll.
Day-to-day tasks can become incredibly hard, and this may affect your psychological health and quality of life.
The Chronic Conditions Course is a clinically-proven treatment to help adults manage the impact of living with a chronic physical health condition.
The course is free, confidential, and can be completed flexibly in your own time. The goal is to help you improve your emotional wellbeing and quality of life and to maintain your day-to-day activities as much as possible.
When you enrol in this 8-week course, you’ll receive:
- 5 online lessons to help you better understand your symptoms and teach practical self-management skills
- DIY Guides to help you put these skills into practice
- Lots of additional resources, case studies, and stories from other people who are living with a chronic physical health condition
- Optional weekly support from a therapist via email and telephone
This course aims to provide the information and skills that you would normally receive from a clinical psychologist if you attend a specialist treatment facility. While the course is not designed to ‘treat’ or ‘cure’ chronic physical health conditions, the information and skills covered have been found in 100s of research trials to be essential for people living with these conditions.
The Chronic Conditions Course is recommended for people who:
- are 18 years of age or older
- are Australian residents
- have a diagnosed chronic physical health condition
- have a condition that is impacting their emotional wellbeing and day-to-day activities
- want information and skills to help them manage the impacts of their condition/conditions
