When teenagers go through a tough time, it can be more than just feeling low. Tough times can also leave teens feeling stressed, worried, or overwhelmed. It is normal for teens to experience these emotions, which often arise as they learn to balance their studies and relationships or grapple with concerns like climate change.
When these feelings last longer than expected, they can impact their mental health. Recent research by the Black Dog Institute has found that one-third of Australian teens experience high levels of psychological distress, and 15% experience depressive symptoms.
ClearlyMe® is a mental health app designed to see teens through tough times. It offers 37 bite-sized therapeutic activities based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that target common symptoms of depression, such as low mood or negative thinking. Our research has shown ClearlyMe to be effective in reducing depressive symptoms and improving the health-related quality of life in teens.
ClearlyMe's features are self-directed and can be freely explored as needed. All Activities aim to build psychological skills and coping strategies that support teens to:
- Think and feel better during tough times.
- Be the best version of themselves and get the most out of school and life.
- Understand themselves better through their thoughts, feelings, and actions.
- Feel less alone and know that help is available if they need it.
ClearlyMe® is a free app and can be downloaded from ClearlyMe® app - Apple App Store and ClearlyMe® app - Google Play Store.
